I have always loved modular design! Modularity has many benefits. Besides reducing manufacturing costs, it combines the advantages of standardisation with customisation. Guitar design is modular and Fender are masters of the craft. How many variations of the Telecaster have there been since Leo created his masterpiece back in 1951? I have wanted to embrace modularity for quite a while but other project work took preference – until now!

I have taken one of my favourite designs and created six modular retro-vintage/contemporary design proposals that, I trust, would not look out of place in anyone’s collection. Once again, I have fused 1960s Japanese guitar design with Mainstream Americana paying particular attention to the pickup configurations. I am delighted with all six proposals because they represent another significant step forward in my search to find the Lost Chord. If any manufacturer is reading this page and thinking about producing something different, our modularity concept could be the very thing you have been looking for.
